Owen Graduate Hall on the Michigan State University campus will close May 14 for a $10 million summer renovation project that will include new dining options, new community spaces and important upgrades to life safety systems. The hall is scheduled to re-open August 10.
The first floor of Owen Hall will feature a new reception area and lounge, complete with new mailboxes for residents. The lower level will feature a hi-tech game room and TV lounge, a community kitchen and study spaces.
Riverwalk Market will debut when the hall re-opens and will feature three cooked-to-order food stations, including a station for global and international cuisine, one for pizza, and one featuring classic American fare. Riverwalk Market will also feature a retail space offering pre-packaged sandwiches, salads, snacks and breakfast items.
Current residents of Owen Hall have the option of spending the summer at McDonel Hall with the same services as at Owen. The Owen Hall manager’s office will be relocated to E-2 McDonel Hall for the summer; staff can be reached at (517) 355-8245.
