Faculty conversations: Kimberly Fenn

Kimberly Fenn, assistant professor of psychology, runs a “sleep lab” at MSU that investigates the effects of sleep on memory.

In her latest study, published in the journal Learning & Memory, Fenn argues that sleep could reduce mistakes in memory. The study involved three separate experiments on college students. It’s the first study to explore the effects of sleep on “false memory,” Fenn says.

In future research, Fenn, a cognitive neuroscientist, said she’ll study different population groups, including the elderly.
