Celtic Woman ‘Isle of Hope’ performance at Wharton Center

As part of its “Isle of Hope” tour, the international Irish music phenomenon, Celtic Woman, will perform at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts at Michigan State University Nov. 4.

Tickets for the performance, which will be held in the Cobb Great Hall, go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 31.

During the 2009 “Isle of Hope” tour, the group has performed renditions of “Fields of Gold” and “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You,” as well as the patriotic song "O, America!" which was written exclusively for Celtic Woman by William Joseph and  Brendan Graham, known for his inspirational song "You Raise Me Up.”

The four vocalists -- Chloë, Lisa, Lynn, and Alex -- along with Celtic violinist Máiréad, will perform Irish standards, classical favorites and contemporary hits, as well as cornerstone favorites such as “Danny Boy,” and “Spanish Lady.”

The group has appeared on several national television shows including “Dancing with the Stars,” the “Today Show” and “Good Morning America.” The group was recently named the "Best Celtic Group" at the 2009 Ireland Music Awards.
