13th annual Muelder Summer Carillon Series at Beaumont Tower

The 13th annual Muelder Summer Carillon Series will take place at 6 p.m. each Wednesday in July. The recitals, held at Beaumont Tower on Michigan State University’s campus, are open to the public. After each recital, the tower will be open for tours and a demonstration of the workings of the carillon.

The Summer Carillon Series was established in 1996 through the generosity of Milton Muelder, now retired from his MSU career of more than 40 years. The MSU carillon contains 49 bells and is capable of playing the full range of literature composed for the instrument. The MSU Beaumont Tower is located in the West Circle Drive oval area.

The schedule for this year’s carillon series is as follows:

  • July 1: Margo Halsted, Univ. of California-Santa Barbara
  • July 8: Ana and Sara Elias, Portugal
  • July 15: Gijsbert Kok, The Netherlands
  • July 22: Wylie Crawford, University of Chicago
  • July 29: Ray McLellan, MSU
