Agreement signing and tree planting. Michigan State University will sign an agreement to join the Chicago Climate Exchange

Michigan State University officials, students, faculty and staff will gather at MSU’s T.B. Simon Power Plant on Tuesday, Nov. 14, for the signing of the agreement that will make the university part of the Chicago Climate Exchange.
A tree planting on site will immediately follow remarks and the agreement signing.
Michael Walsh, senior manager of the Chicago Climate Exchange, will be on hand for the event. Scheduled speakers include Walsh, MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon, VP of Finance and Operations Fred Poston and environmental studies student Chelsea McMellen. Faculty, staff and students from relevant university programs and offices will be on hand as resources to the media.
The Chicago Climate Exchange, also known as CCX, is North America’s only, and the world’s first, greenhouse gas emission registry, reduction and trading system for all six greenhouse gasses (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons and sulphur hexafluoride).
