The Student Investment Association, as well as Women in Business and the Multicultural Organization, will host a speech and book signing by Gail Perry-Mason, author of the investment strategy book Girl, Make Your Money Grow!

Perry-Mason, currently the first vice president of financial services for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., will offer tips on how to invest wisely, how to buy prime real estate and how to take advantage of the best retirement options when she speaks at the MSU Business College Complex on Wednesday, March 23. The event will begin with a book signing at 6:30 p.m. followed by her talk at 7:30 p.m. in Room N130.

This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of investing from someone who has real-life experience and offers practical strategies, said Trish Dunne, vice president of public relations for the Student Investment Association. Gail is a great role model for anyone who is interested in using their own resources to grow their wealth and enhance their careers as well.

Perry-Mason worked her way up from receptionist to first vice president of financial services at Fahnestock & Co. Inc., formerly First of Michigan. For the past 14 years she has taught financial training sessions for Daimler-Chrysler, IBM, the Urban League and many more.

She has instructed and trained more than 1,000 Detroit youths in after-school programs about the world of finance. She was also a co-host for two television shows, the award-winning Building Wealth and Better Investing.
