Arrival routes
Because of highway repair projects underway in the Lansing/East Lansing area, fans coming from out of town should expect delays and allow extra driving time. Please be patient and follow traffic routing instructions to ensure arrival at the game in a safe and timely manner.

Game day traffic information is provided by WJIM-AM (1240) and WJIM-FM (97.5).

  • East
Those approaching campus from the east (Interstate 96) are advised to take the Okemos Road exit. They will be routed from Okemos Road and Jolly Road to the shuttle parking area located near Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Road. Parking in the shuttle lot is free; a round-trip ticket for the shuttle bus costs $3. Fans with parking passes should follow Jolly Road to Hagadorn Road and go north to Shaw Lane. They should enter campus on Shaw Lane and proceed to their designated lot.
  • West
Fans traveling to the football game from the west side of the state should follow I-96 to 127 north and exit at the Jolly/Dunckel Road exit. Go east on Dunckel Road to Forest Road. They will be routed to shuttle parking near Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Road. Parking in the shuttle lot is free; a round-trip ticket for the shuttle bus costs $3. Fans with parking passes should use the route closest to their assigned parking areas.
  • North/South
Fans traveling to the football game on 127 (north or south) can exit onto Trowbridge Road. This route typically gets heavy traffic and may be congested because of the normal traffic flow in the area. Construction may limit or prevent access to campus from Kalamazoo Street for the first half of the season. Fans with parking passes should use the route closest to their assigned parking areas.

Parking
All parking areas open at 7 a.m. Police and parking personnel will direct drivers to the nearest available parking area. A parking map is available on the Web at www.homefootball.msu.edu

Because soil compaction endangers the long-term health of campus trees, vehicles cannot be parked on grass surfaces north of the Red Cedar River and are restricted to designated grass areas south of the Red Cedar River. To learn more about this problem and how it is affecting campus trees, visit http://newsroom.msu.edu/site/indexer/481/content.htm

  • Public parking
Public parking is available on campus for $15. Spaces in lots in outlying areas cost $10. Munn Field is an alcohol-free parking area close to the stadium; cost is $15. Lot 66A at the corner of Harrison and Kalamazoo will be closed to the general public.
  • Shuttle services
Shuttle bus service is available from Lot 89 (corner of Mt. Hope Road and Farm Lane). The shuttle starts two hours before the game and is available for approximately two hours after the game. Parking in this lot is free; a round-trip shuttle bus ticket costs $3.
  • RV parking
Parking for recreational vehicles and other oversized vehicles is available along Stadium Road (corner of Wilson Road and Stadium Road), in the grass area across from the Grounds Department and in the Physical Plant parking lot. Cost is $30.
  • Parking for persons with disabilities
Parking for persons with disabilities is available in Lot 48, south of the Natural Resources Building. Parking in this area costs $10 and includes a shuttle ride to the northeast corner of the stadium. A permit is required. The shuttle starts two hours before the game and is available for approximately two hours after the game. The shuttle bus from the stadium back to the parking area is accessed from the north end gates.

Tailgating sites
Tailgating is permitted in all public parking areas.

Munn Field is an alcohol-free parking area open to the general public. This $15 parking area close to the stadium is ideal for family tailgating or for those who wish to park, walk to downtown East Lansing for a meal or shopping, and then return to attend the game. In the event of heavy rain, Munn Field will be closed to parking.

Keep It Green and Clean trash pick-up effort
MSU Grounds staff members wearing bright green vests will hand out free green-and-white garbage bags to tailgaters a few hours before kick-off. All fans are asked to deposit their trash in the appropriate receptacles and to do their part in keeping the campus green and clean.
