EAST LANSING, Mich. Michigan State Universitys Office of Study Abroad will hold its Fall 2004 Study Abroad Fair from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, on the second floor of the MSU Union.

The event will feature more than 200 programs in more than 60 countries across the globe. Program leaders and past participants will be available to talk with students at tables in the Ballroom, Gold and Parlor rooms.

Nearly 100 percent of the study abroad programs offered at MSU will be represented, said Inge Steglitz, assistant director of study abroad. The main feature is students get the chance to talk with the faculty leaders of the various programs.

Steglitz added that nearly 40 percent of the students attending last falls fair were freshmen who are planning early to study abroad.

Staff from the Office of Study Abroad, Office of Financial Aid, MSU Travel Clinic and the MSU Federal Credit Union will be available to answer financial, health and safety, and other program questions. Academic advisers will be there to answer questions about students individual degree requirements.

A new feature this year is MSUs Instructional Media Center will be on hand to take passport photos at a discounted cost of $10.60.

Photos and artifacts will be on display, and students will have the opportunity to learn more about the opportunities they have through MSUs nationally recognized study abroad program.

The Office of Study Abroad is dedicated to providing students with opportunities that allow them to become productive members of the global community by promoting intercultural learning and by advocating diversity in participants and programs.
