EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State University's Senior Class Council elected 23 new members for the upcoming 2003-04 school year.
The Senior Class Council is a student-run organization established to enhance the university's educational and social community by organizing, representing and serving the undergraduate senior class. Activities include the Outstanding Senior Awards program and selection of the student undergraduate convocation speaker for commencement ceremonies.
New members of the MSU Senior Class Council from Michigan are:
ANN ARBOR
Elizabeth Alonso, a 2000 graduate of Pioneer High School, and the daughter of Gregorio and Elisabeth Alonso. She is majoring in marketing in The Eli Broad College of Business, and is active in Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Associated Students of Michigan State University funding board and Gamma Sigma Alpha honor society.
BRIGHTON
David M. Helstowski, a 1999 graduate of Brighton High School, and the son of Dave and Debra Helstowski. He is majoring in interdisciplinary studies-social science/human resources and economics in The College of Social Science. He is a member of Alpha Sigma Phi and the steering committee for Greek Week.
CANTON
Cole M. Young, a 2000 graduate of Plymouth Salem High School, and the son of Lynn Pietrzak. He is majoring in civil engineering in the College of Engineering. His activities include membership in the Freshman Class Council. The dean's list student has received College of Engineering and United Auto Workers scholarships.
FARMINGTON HILLS
Lindsay DeRose, a 2000 graduate of Harrison High School, and the daughter of Edward DeRose. She is majoring in special education and language arts in the College of Education. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and a Council for Exceptional Children board member.
FREMONT
Carlye Wilk, a 2000 graduate of Fremont High School, and the daughter of Scott and Becky Wilk. She is majoring in special education in the College of Education. Her activities include Panhellenic Council, Chi Omega, and Gamma Gamma Alpha honors fraternity.
HASLETT
Jeffrey J. Thelen, a 2000 graduate of Haslett High School, and the daughter of Patrick Thelen and Mindy Spina. He is a finance major in The Eli Broad College of Business. He is the president and founder of the Students Consulting for Non-Profit Organization, and he studied abroad at Cambridge University in the summer of 2002.
KENTWOOD
Melody Klein, a 2000 graduate of East Kentwood High School, and the daughter of Steve and Jane Rittenhouse. She is majoring in supply chain management in The Eli Broad College of Business and Spanish in the College of Arts and Letters. She is president of the Supply Chain Management Association student organization, a member of Gamma Phi Beta and a soccer coach for the East Lansing Parks & Recreation.
Kristen Loney, a 2000 graduate of East Kentwood High School, and the daughter of Gary and Barbara Loney. She is majoring in supply chain management in The Eli Broad College of Business. She serves as president of the Panhellenic Council and vice president for education in the Students Consulting for Non-Profit Organization. She is a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha, Zeta Tau Alpha and the Supply Chain Management Association student organization.
KINGSFORD
Mike Murphy, a 1999 graduate of Kingsford High School, and the son of Peter and Carolyn Murphy. He is majoring in business and pre-law in The Eli Broad College of Business. He is a member of the Honors College, president of "The Undercrost," and active in the MSU Residence Hall Association, Golden Key Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma.
LAKE ORION
Carrie Browning, a 2000 graduate of Lake Orion High School, and the daughter of Charles and Kathryn Browning. She is majoring in human resources in The Eli Broad College of Business and psychology in the College of Social Science. Her activities include Kappa Alpha Theta and the Human Resources Association.
LIVONIA
Nicole Davidson, a 2000 graduate of Stevenson High School, and the daughter of Harold and Nancy Davidson. She is majoring in elementary education in the College of Education. She is president of Pi Beta Phi, a member of Gold Key National Honor Society, of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and participated in spring break trip in South Dakota in 2003. She is a member of the All-University Elections Committee.
MIDLAND
Amit Mehta, a 2000 graduate of H.H. Dow High School, and the son of Rajnihant and Jyoti Mehta. He is majoring in finance in The Eli Broad College of Business. His leadership roles include is vice president for external relations and vice president for administration for Interfraternity Council. NILES Emily Mitchell, a 2000 graduate of Niles High School, and the daughter of James and Mary Ann Mitchell. She is a physiology major in the College of Natural Science, and a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
NORTHVILLE
Antoinette Mazzoni, a 2000 graduate of Mercy High School, and the daughter of Orin and Tina Mazzoni. She is majoring in interior design in the College of Human Ecology. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, a computer-aided design teaching assistant and a member of the Greater Lansing Ballet Senior Company.
PORTAGE
Nick Brideau, a 2000 graduate of Portage Central High School, and the son of Roger and Vickie Brideau. He is a biochemistry major in the Lyman Briggs School, College of Natural Science. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Interfraternity Council, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is on the dean's list.
Steven Schauer, a 2000 graduate of Portage Central High School, and the son of Gary and Janet Schauer. He is a biochemistry and molecular biology major in the Lyman Briggs School, College of Natural Science. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, vice president of internal affairs in the Interfraternity Council (IFC), an IFC representative to the MSU Academic Council, Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU) Academic Assembly and ASMSU Student Assembly.
ROCHESTER HILLS
Katherine Bante, a 2000 graduate of Marian High School, and the daughter of James and Mary Suzanne Bante. She is majoring in supply chain management in The Eli Broad College of Business. She is a member of the Supply Chain Management Association. She also was a member of MSU's Freshman Class Council. Other positions she has held include Associated Students of Michigan State University Student Assembly representative and intern with the Michigan House of Representatives.
Cassandra Roller, a 2000 graduate of Rochester Adams High School, and the daughter of Elmer and Jeanette Roller. She is majoring in marketing in The Eli Broad College of Business. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Gamma Sigma Alpha honor society, the MSU Marketing Association, and is a volunteer with the Volunteer Income Tax Association (VITA).
TROY
Jeanette Lantzy, a 2000 graduate of Troy High School, and the daughter of William and Prudence Lantzy. She is majoring in special education in the College of Education. She is a member of the Council of Exceptional Children, MSU Stars/Make-a-Wish, Student Michigan Education Association and Academic Assembly in the Associated Students of Michigan State University.

Jason Greeter, a 1999 graduate of Deerfield High School, and the son of Gerry and Carol Greeter. He is majoring in finance in The Eli Broad College of Business.
ELBURN, ILL.
Carrie Dietiker, a 2000 graduate of Rosary High School, and the daughter of Michael and Kathleen Dietiker. She is majoring in finance in The Eli Broad College of Business. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, vice president for administration in the Panhellenic Council, Gamma Sigma Alpha honor society, the Finance Association, MSU Stars/Make-a-Wish, and the funding board of the Associated Students of Michigan State University.
LaGRANGE PARK, ILL.
Jenny Roman, a 2000 graduate of Nazareth Academy, and the daughter of Alan and Joanne Roman. She is majoring in elementary education in the College of Education, and is the membership education vice president for Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
GREENFIELD, WIS.
