EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State University College of Education programs have received top spots in the best graduate schools rankings edition of U.S. News & World Report, scheduled to be on newsstands Monday, April 7.
This is the ninth straight year that the college's elementary and secondary education programs have been ranked first in the nation; its rehabilitation counseling program also was ranked No. 1 this year. The college retained its ranking of 15th overall from last year.
"To have three of our graduate programs recognized as the best in the country is quite an honor," College of Education dean Carole Ames said. "It is both an indication of the quality of our faculty and the outstanding research and teaching that goes on here every day.
"Our commitment has always been to provide our graduate students the best programs and having eight of our programs ranked among the top 10 in their respective fields is a remarkable achievement."
Three other MSU colleges were ranked in the top 25 in the magazine's latest edition:
- College of Osteopathic Medicine, 4th
- College of Veterinary Medicine, 6th
- College of Human Medicine, 20th
Of the specialty programs listed, 10 are ranked in the top 10 nationally. The Eli Broad College of Business and Graduate School of Management's supply chain/logistics program and the College of Education's curriculum/instruction program ranked second.
The other MSU programs listed are educational psychology (5), higher education administration (5), education policy (8), agricultural engineering (8), educational administration/supervision (9), the College of Business (37), and nursing (48).
