Michigan State University's three medical colleges will hold special ceremonies this week, welcoming the class of 2007 to campus.
The events are known as "white coat ceremonies," as the incoming students are presented with their first white coat, symbolizing their entrance into the world of medicine.
The ceremonies are fun and often emotional, as the students' family and friends are in attendance.
MSU is the only university in the nation with three medical colleges - the College of Human Medicine, the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Below is the schedule for the colleges' ceremonies:
College of Veterinary Medicine: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, in Room E-100, Veterinary Medical Center
College of Osteopathic Medicine: 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in the Great Hall of the Wharton Center
College of Human Medicine: 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, in Big Ten Room A of the Kellogg Center
