Reporters seeking comment on 2002 election results and forecasts on the gubernatorial transition are invited to attend an election wrap-up sponsored by Michigan State University's Michigan Political Leadership Program (MPLP) and the Michigan Political History Society.
"Off the Record - Live!" will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. this afternoon in the Big Ten Room at the Kellogg Center Hotel & Conference Center, South Harrison Road, East Lansing.
Pre-registration is not necessary. Simply show media credentials at the door.
Event highlights include:
- A review by gubernatorial campaign leaders: Chris DeWitt, Jennifer Granholm for Governor; Dan Pero, Dick Posthumus for Governor
- An election recap: Steve Mitchell, Mitchell Research & Communications Inc.; Ed Sarpolus, EPIC/MRA
- An overview of Michigan's election history: Bill Ballenger, "Inside Michigan Politics"
- The transition-a snapshot into the future: Maxine Berman, adviser to Governor-Elect Jennifer Granholm.
Capitol correspondent Tim Skubick will moderate the discussion.
The event will be followed by a reception expected to include 200 of the current and future "who's who" of Michigan political leaders.
