Logan Stark: Marine. Student. Filmmaker.

May 24, 2013

Logan Stark has been places and seen things most MSU students will never experience. He didn’t come to the university straight from high school. He’s a former Marine sniper and came to East Lansing after serving in Afghanistan.

Logan took his experiences and those of his battlefield brothers in Sangin, Afghanistan and created a powerful 48-minute documentary about members of “Dark Horse” Battalion. Logan, who’s a senior in the professional writing program, and his classmates Rebecca Zantjer and Lexi Dakin created the film, “For the 25,” for their advanced multimedia writing class.

Through misty eyes and comfortable smiles, the battlefield brothers talk about their friendship; life before, during and after Afghanistan; and the 25 Marines who never made it home.
