1. Honors College student named for national Beinecke Scholarship: Joshua Schnell has been nominated by Michigan State University for the nationally competitive Beinecke Scholarship, which pays for graduate studies in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Schnell is an Honors College junior majoring in anthropology in the College of Social Science and religious studies in the College of Arts and Letters. More >>

2. Tracking invasives? There's an app for that: Invasive species will have a tougher time sneaking around undetected, thanks to an app developed by Michigan State University. Midwestern residents can now snap photos with their smart phones, log a few quick notes and send their alert to a growing network of scientists and state officials who can use this critical information to increase response to these threats. 3. MSU student named finalist for nationallycompetitive ressearch assistant fellowship: A Michigan State University student interested in international affairs has been named a finalist for a nationally competitive research assistant fellowship through the Carnegie Junior Fellows Program within the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
