Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event set for Oct. 5

On Oct. 5, the MSU Greek Community will be hosting an event to help take a stand for those who no longer can. The event, Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, is about supporting victims of domestic violence.

Last year, Walk a Mile raised more than $1,000 in donations. All proceeds will be going to the Alpha Chi Omega foundation, which supports organizations such as the Center Against Rape and Violence, which provide services to people who have faced domestic abuse.

Registration for the event begins at 9:30 a.m., and the walk will start at 10 a.m., beginning at Linden and M.A.C. The cost is $7 for a single participant, or $10 to sponsor a walker.

Preregister for the event online and read more information on the Facebook event page.

MSU’s Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives will be at the event promoting the awareness campaign “There is No Excuse for Sexual Assault,” which helps students, faculty and staff better understand and identify sexual assault on campus. More information can be found on the Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives website.
