MSU rifle team heads to Georgia

MSU’s rifle team will be headed to Ft. Benning, GA to compete in the NRA Intercollegiate National Rifle Club Championship on March 24 and 25. The team qualified for both three position smallbore and precision air rifle after a successful Sectional competition on Feb. 10 and 11 in Jackson, MI.

Katrina Klaes, a senior majoring in agriculture, food and natural resources education, won the 2018 NRA Intercollegiate Sectional gold medal in three position smallbore. Klaes also took the bronze in precision air rifle.

Those students earning a place in the NRA Intercollegiate National Rifle Club Championship include: seniors Katrina Klaes, Alex Novotny, Matthew Oxie and sophomores Chris Canu, Amanda Wright and Ben Ramey. The team is confident as they compete in another national championship.
