MSU’s Shooting Sports Club concluded its season having achieved many notable accomplishments. Among the greatest successes was qualifying both smallbore and air rifle teams to complete in the National NRA Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships in Fort Benning, Georgia, a feat that had not happened since 2012. The team made its mark with many personal records posted in both disciplines. MSU finished ninth in air rifle and seventh in smallbore nationally.

Other highlights include the pistol team’s performance at the Scholastic Action Shooters Program matches. In addition to the team ranking second overall, team members Tanner Pond, senior, was ranked the fastest male shooter and Cheyenne Richardson, junior, was ranked the fastest female shooter in the nation.

Additionally, Madison Hall, a doctoral student, competed in the USA Shooting Winter Air Gun match at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. She is now ranked 11th in the nation by USA Shooting for Women's Air Pistol.

The club continues to expand and aim for even more ambitious goals. MSUSSC will continue to practice and compete throughout the summer.
