Great Lakes Folk Festival to be held Aug. 11-13

The roots, the rhythms and the richness of music, dance, arts and culture are returning for the annual Great Lakes Folk Festival Aug. 11-13. 

The Michigan State University Museum will host the festival in downtown East Lansing, featuring exhibits, musical performances, children’s activities, food and more.

Admission is by donation, with a suggestion of $10 per day.

The festival includes many performances and participation events, such as the Uke Strum, where festival-goers can bring their ukulele and play along to the instruments most well-known songs.

The festival will run 6-10:30 p.m. Aug. 11, noon-10:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and noon-6 p.m. Aug. 13. Performances will be held throughout the day at various locations in downtown East Lansing.
