MSU wins big at DECA conference

Michigan State University’s Collegiate DECA team brought home 13 first, second and third place awards, as well as eight finalist medals, at the annual State Career Development Conference in Grand Rapids in February.

Twenty-six team members representing the Eli Broad College of Business and the College of Communication Arts and Sciences competed in events from four academic areas. Subjects included business management and administration, finance and accounting, marketing and communications and hospitality and tourism.

The team’s next stop is the International Career Development Conference, April 16-19 in Washington, D.C., where students will compete against other state conference winners.

Collegiate DECA is an international organization with more than 15,000 members in 275 colleges and universities.
