MSU construction progress now available as YouTube video

Hearing rumors about Breslin Center renovations? Wondering about the current construction taking place at the old Michigan State Police post on Harrison Road? All of these updates and more are now available at your fingertips through the virtual Construction Junction.

Construction Junction is a monthly update hosted by Michigan State University Infrastructure, Planning and Facilities. The meeting has featured IPF and partner construction representatives who present updates about upcoming, current and recently completed MSU construction projects. It has also provided a public forum for interested parties to comment on construction projects. Previously hosted as a face-to-face meeting, Construction Junction is now being piloted online as a YouTube video.

“It is often difficult for people interested in MSU construction projects to take time away from their busy schedules to attend the face-to-face Construction Junction monthly sessions,” said Dan Bollman, assistant vice president of IPF. “Being able to watch ‘CJ’ on their own computer or phone whenever they want to offers more convenience to our audience and has the potential to get the word out to a broader group.”

Moving Construction Junction online is a trending move in today’s virtual society. This online presentation will save time and resources for all involved, and is intended to increase participation. A viewer also has the option to view only the projects they are specifically interested in. Along with hosting the monthly video, the Construction Junction webpage also offers an online public forum option for submitting feedback about construction projects.

Construction Junction will be available on the IPF YouTube channel by the seventh of each month. Visit here to view the Jan. 7 Construction Junction.
