MSU celebrates Earth Day all month long

At MSU, green is always in season.

Although April 22 is Earth Day, there are campus events happening all month to celebrate and raise awareness about environmental issues.

Featured events include:

The Power Dialog

2 to 5 p.m., April 4, Life Science Building

  • The Power Dialog is a national event seeking to engage students across the United States in dialog on energy policy. Students from colleges and universities across the state of Michigan studying energy and environmental policy are invited to attend and participate in the discussion.

World View Lecture Series: Naomi Klein

7:30 p.m., April 4, Wharton Center Cobb Great Hall

  • Award-winning journalist and columnist Naomi Klein will address climate change. Klein is the author of the international bestseller, “The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism.” Her critically acclaimed, award-winning new book, “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate,” became an instant bestseller.

Student Organic Farm Stand

11 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 7, MSU Auditorium

  • The Student Organic Farm Stand returns for the 2016 season. The farm stand is open every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through the end of October.

A Conversation with President Simon about MSU's Energy Future

9 a.m., April 12

  • MSU will broadcast "A Conversation with President Simon about MSU's Energy Future" on MSU's Energy Transition website. President Lou Anna K. Simon, along with other distinguished panelists, will discuss MSU's energy infrastructure and the steps the university is taking to advance its energy goals.

Be Spartan Green Earth Day Gala

3 to 5 p.m., April 20, Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center

  • The Gala will celebrate Earth Day and Spartans who have made significant contributions to achieving sustainability goals on campus.

3rd Annual Earth Week Extravaganza

11 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 21, The Rock on Farm Lane

  • MSU Sustainability and the Sustainable Spartans will host their annual Earth Week Extravaganza. Activities include plant giveaways, free bike repairs, pot decorating and more.
