Register for Michigan 4-H February volunteer training workshops

Each program year, Michigan 4-H, with support from the Michigan 4-H Foundation, donors and other supporters, offers volunteer skills trainings at sites across Michigan. Each workshop provides participants with the necessary skills to become knowledgeable in a variety of subjects.

Workshops being offered this February are:

  • 4-H Veterinary Science Teen and Adult Leaders Workshop, Feb. 27-28: Adult and teen volunteers will explore animal systems and learn about animal health for a broad array of animal species. Participants will learn from others, share information and experiences and ask veterinarians questions about their careers. Other activities include hands-on demonstrations that will teach attendees how to help members recognize healthy, sick and/or injured animals. For more information on this workshop, visit the 4-H Veterinary Science Teen and Adult Leaders Workshop registration page. This event will take place at the Kettunen Center in Tustin, Michigan.
  • 4-H Beef, Sheep and Swine Teen and Adult Leaders Workshop, Feb. 28-March 1: This workshop is designated for both teen and adult leaders in beef cattle, sheep and swine projects. Topics to be covered during the workshop include animal health, management and nutrition. Various county leaders will be present to encourage participants to exchange ideas and program information with other volunteers within the same project area. The workshop will also offer ways to enhance communication and teaching skills, and information about the many opportunities available for those interested in the beef, sheep and swine industries. For more information on this workshop, visit the 4-H Beef, Sheep and Swine Teen and Adult Leaders Workshop registration page. The event will take place at the Kettunen Center in Tustin, Michigan.
