Princeton University professor to speak at MSU

Professor of sociology and public affairs at Princeton University Douglas Massey will speak at noon on Sept. 25 at B115 Wells Hall.

In this talk, Massey will address the implications of some of his most recent work in the sociologies of immigration and racial segregation.

Massey’s work was recently emphasized in a New York Times editorial. Similarly, Massey’s research on race, space and cumulative disadvantage in sub-prime mortgage access in Baltimore, Maryland and other urban areas has received recent attention.

Eduardo Porter of The New York Times commented on the relevance and importance Massey's work regarding international migration, border crossings and the impact of illegal immigration.
