Friends of Theatre offers scripts class

The Friends of Michigan State University Theatre, a volunteer group supporting MSU’s Department of Theater, will present its fall “Scripts Class” focusing on the upcoming production “Stage Door.”

The class will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 and 19 at Hannah Community Center as part of Hannah’s Prime Time series. The class is $35 for prime time members and $40 for the general public and includes a copy of the script and a show ticket.

Enroll for the class by Oct. 30 by calling (527) 337-1113 or in person at Hannah Community Center in the Prime time office.

The course will include two two-hour classes as well as tickets to the MSU production of “Stage Door.” Written by Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman and directed by Rob Roznowski, the play will run at Wharton Center’s Pasant Theatre Nov. 13-15 and 17-22. Tickets are available at http://whartoncenter.com.

MSU theater department faculty, production collaborators and Friends of MSU Theatre board members will lead the Nov. 5 class. Participants will then have the option of attending the performance to the date of their choice. The Nov. 19 class will feature a post-performance “talk back” with team members involved in the production.

All individuals interested in MSU theater productions and Friends of Theatre activities are encouraged to like and follow the group on Facebook.
