4-H participants from across Michigan unite for 10th annual 4-H Day with the Lady Spartans

Families, staff members and volunteers of MSU Extension 4-H Youth Development will attend the annual MSU Extension 4-H Day with the Lady Spartans at 3 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Breslin Center.

The MSU women’s basketball team will host the Iowa Hawkeyes on this day of free fun and activities for 4-H’ers.

4-H youth, their families and MSU Extension staff members are celebrated at this annual event, which recognizes the impact of Michigan’s 4-H programs. At halftime, Calhoun County 4-H youth will take center court to lead the crowd in reciting the 4-H pledge. Members and other guests will have the opportunity to enjoy 4-H displays around the Breslin concourse.

Staff members will be on hand to provide information on the many programs that 4-H has to offer on topics including livestock and marketing, international exchanges, natural resources, life skills, early childhood development, robotics and technology. Attendees will have an opportunity for photos with Sparty from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Special guests planning to attend include MSU Extension director Ray Hammerschmidt.

Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., with doors opening for the 4-H group at 1:30 p.m. MSU Extension and 4-H attendees should enter through Gate D. Parking is free for all school buses; all other buses are $20. Car parking costs $5.
