Rest with Music to feature Ethiopian artist

The next Rest with Music will feature the music of Temesgen, the nation’s foremost proponent of Ethiopian traditional music. The event will take place from 12 to 1 p.m. April 14 in the Abrams Planetarium.

A versatile singer-songwriter, Temesgen is equally at home in the traditional format or on the frontiers of ethio-fusion, blending reggae, Ethiopian and jazz. He will be performing using two traditional Ethiopian stringed instruments: the krar and the begena.

The Rest with Music series aims to promote emotional wellness through music, comfort and relaxation during the lunch hour. All Rest with Music events are free and open to the public.
