Freep Film Festival features MSU faculty, alumni

MSU faculty members and alumni have directed films that will be featured in the inaugural Freep Film Festival.

The festival was founded by its artistic director and executive director, Kathy Kieliszewski and Steve Byrne, respectively. The co-creators also are MSU alumni.

Troy Hale and Geri Alumit Zeldes of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences will screen their film “Kings of Flint,” while MSU alumnus Carrie LeZotte will display her film “Lean, Mean and Green.” Both films focus on positive projects rebuilding Michigan’s urban communities.

The festival takes place March 20-23 at the Fillmore Detroit and the Detroit Film Theatre in the Detroit Institute of Arts. More information on the festival can be found here.
