College of Agriculture and Natural Resources names senior director of advancement

The MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources has named Tami Baumann senior director of advancement.

“Tami is a great team player and a proven relationship builder,” said CANR Dean Fred Poston. “She will be an asset in successfully moving the college forward in fundraising.”

For Baumann, a former member of the MSU Planned Giving Team, this marks a return to MSU. In 2004, she left MSU to work at the University of Iowa Foundation.

“I am very happy to be back at Michigan State and am especially excited to be working on behalf of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources,” Baumann said. “This college’s research affects everything from our dinner plate to the air we breathe. This creates rich experiential learning opportunities for our students and allows them to work on real-world problems inside and outside the classroom.”

While at Iowa, Baumann served as executive director of development for the Tippie College of Business. Her leadership and dedication helped prepare the University of Iowa for a $125 million capital campaign. She also handled large fundraising projects while serving as a regional major gift officer.
