Chemistry professor named Optical Society fellow

MSU professor of chemistry Marcos Dantus has been named a fellow of the Optical Society. Dantus is being recognized for the development of the multiphoton intrapulse interference phase scan; its applications range from materials processing to bioimaging.

OSA fellows are selected based on their overall impact on optics from their scientific, engineering and technological contributions to the discipline. The process is highly competitive, as no more than 10 percent of the OSA membership may be fellows.

Dantus is one of 71 OSA members elevated to the rank of fellow.
