2014-15 Homecoming Court applications now being accepted

Applications for the 2014-15 Michigan State University Homecoming Court are now being accepted.

MSU departments, units and organizations are asked to identify deserving students who exemplify the qualities of leadership, spirit, integrity and achievement through their contributions and involvement at MSU and encourage them to apply. All applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from a member of the MSU community (student, faculty or staff).

The Homecoming Court will not exceed 10 people. Alternates will be chosen but not announced unless a court member cannot fulfill his or her obligations. The Homecoming Court selection committee, made of students, faculty, staff and alumni/community leaders, is looking for current MSU juniors or seniors who best represent the diversity and richness of the Spartan experience and who will serve as exceptional role models and ambassadors.

Representing MSU on the Homecoming Court is considered one of the highest distinctions for MSU seniors.

“Being on the Homecoming Court has been an honor and a privilege,” said 2013-14 Homecoming Court ambassador Audrey Mabiza. “I managed to partake in activities and events which I would not have been able to do if I was not a court member.

“The opportunity also allowed me to meet Spartans from different walks of life. Being a homecoming court member is a memory I will carry with me for many years to come.”

Requirements of Homecoming Court ambassadors:

  • Must be a full-time MSU undergraduate student who will have completed at least 90 credits (senior status) by Aug. 28, 2014
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must be in good academic, legal and disciplinary standing
  • Must be in East Lansing during the 2014 fall semester

The Homecoming Court application packet is available online. Completed applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m., March 20. A completed application consists of completing the online database, uploading three documents (resume, letter of recommendation and written response to three questions) and submitting a hard copy of the signed Homecoming Court release form. Late applications will not be considered.

Questions may be sent to court advisers Natisha Foster at adamsna2@rhs.msu.edu or Mathias Koller at kollerm1@msu.edu.
