MSU student competes on Jeopardy!

MSU student Sara Garnett recently took home $77,403 after a four-day run on Jeopardy!.

Garnett is a Ph.D. student in Tom Getty's lab at the Kellogg Biological Station, pursuing a dual degree in zoology and ecology, evolutionary biology and behavior.

She also is a 2012-13 Kellogg Biological Station GK-12 program fellow and works with AP Biology students at Plainwell High School.

Her Jeopardy! episodes aired on Feb. 27 and 28, and March 1 and 4.

Honors College senior Mina Hirzel, who’s studying linguistics and neuroscience, has been awarded a Baggett Fellowship, a one-year post-baccalaureate research fellowship at the University of Maryland, College Park. Only two fellowships are awarded each year.
