I am a Spartan

Spartans exhibit an uncommon will to make a better world.

Every day, we work to meet the biggest challenges.

Find smarter answers. Change the game. Inspire future generations.

Facing cancer with an athlete's determination

Jacqueline Setas, a recent Spartan graduate, came to Michigan State University on a golf scholarship. During her time on the MSU Women's Golf Team, Setas began noticing her body slowly breaking down and eventually was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Starting serious conversations about comics

Julian Chambliss is an English professor who studies comic books. Chambliss was drawn to Michigan State University for a simple reason — it is home to the largest publicly available comic art collection in the world. This has provided Chambliss with opportunities to curate the narrative for the MSU Comics Forum and start serious conversations about diverse cultural experiences.

Spartan Street Medicine

Treating everyone with dignity

Brianne Feldpausch founded the Spartan Street Medicine program as an osteopathic medical student at Michigan State University. Feldpausch and her team serve individuals struggling with homelessness both on the streets of Lansing and in shelters.
