Michigan State closed out the Rutgers series with a third straight victory, a 4-1 win.
On a blustery March day with the real-feel hovering in the low 30s, the Spartans struck first on a Caitie Ladd homer in the first, and got a pair of extra-base hits from both Marissa Trivelpiece (double) and Jenae Wash (triple) to add some cushion after the Scarlet Knights manufactured a run to knot the score in the top of the fourth.
