The Michigan State women's golf team opened the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate on Sunday at the English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans with a 9-over-par 297, putting the Spartans in a tie for eighth place.
In an ultra-competitive field that features nine teams in the Golfstat top 30, the Spartans are just two shots out of the top four. No. 3 Texas leads the tournament after a 3-under-par 285, followed by fifth-ranked Duke at 2-under-par 286 and top-ranked USC at 1-over-par 289.
