Michigan State field hockey freshman Isa van der Weij has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday.
van der Weij has been a key component of the Spartan offense in 2018 finishing each of her first two collegiate games with three shots taken. Against Kent State on Sunday, August 26, van der Weij registered three shots on goal and come up clutch for Michigan State scoring the game-winning goal in the 77th minute.
