Michigan State gymnastics defeated UIC by a final score of 194.275-194.075 on March 4 in Chicago on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The Spartan victory was highlighted by first-place finishes on three events: including vault, bars and beam. Freshman Lea Mitchell and senior Hailee Westney led the Spartan squad, tying for first on beam with a score of 9.825.
Mitchell was the lone competitor in the all-around competition for the Green and White, placing second with a score of 39.000.
