Spartan basketball in the NCAA tournament

March 17 will be a big day for MSU basketball. It's when both the men's and women's basketball teams will be playing their first games in their respective 2017 NCAA tournaments.

For the men's team, it's the 20th consecutive season playing in the NCAA tournament, extending its Big Ten record by receiving a No. 9 seed in the Midwest Region. The Spartans will face No. 8 seed Miami at approximately 9:20 p.m. eastern in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the BOK Center. The game will be televised on TNT. Read more at msuspartans.com.

The women’s basketball team drew the ninth seed in the Stockton Region and will face eight-seeded Arizona State a 7:30 p.m. eastern tip-off in Colonial Life Arena on the campus of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. The first-round clash between the Spartans and Sun Devils will be nationally televised on ESPN2. Read more at msuspartans.com
