W.K. Kellogg Biological Station hosts garden education day workshop

Welcome spring with other garden enthusiasts at the “Making a World of Difference ­ Choices Matter” garden education day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 2 at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station.

In partnership with the Manor House Rose, Thistle Garden Club and Michigan Garden Club, the workshop will focus on how gardeners big and small can make a large difference on the world in the way they use their property. Topics include "Sharing the Land: A ten year saga of living on the ridge" by Dr. Mike Klug and Carol Klug and “Growing a Container Salad Garden” by Sherri Snyder of Gull Lake Landscaping and “Making the Best Choices for insect & Disease Management” by Linda Whitlock, consumer horticulture and master gardener volunteer program coordinator MSU Extension, Kalamazoo County along with a variety of other interesting topics and speakers.

The $40 per person workshop includes continental breakfast, two morning sessions, lunch overlooking Gull Lake and afternoon sessions. Member discount available. Pre-registration is required by April 24. Call (269) 671-2160 for information and to register.
