Student talent show features special performance from Grammy nominee

This year's student talent show Showtyme @ MSU features a special performance from Grammy nominee Mary Lambert on Jan. 18.

Her debut album "Letters Don’t Talk," released in 2012, established Lambert as a formidable Seattle artist and caught the attention of local hip-hop duo, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, with whom she wrote and sang the same-sex rights anthem “Same Love."

Part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration, Showtyme @ MSU is an annual family-friendly and educational event where students perform their many talents in front of a panel of judges and the audience.

Cash prizes will be presented to those who place in the top three.

The event begins at 8 p.m. at Wharton Center's Pasant Theatre, with doors opening at 7:15 p.m.

Admission is free. For more information, contact Lynn Lammers at (517) 353-3922 or at lammersl@pres.msu.edu.
