The Michigan State University Board of Trustees will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Board Room of the Hannah Administration Building.
Following are a number of items the board will consider.
- Several appointments, including Leo Kempel as dean of the College of Engineering; Elizabeth Simmons as acting dean of the College of Arts and Letters; and Joanna Young as vice president for information technology and chief information officer.
- Authorization to plan for the relocation and upgrade of the university’s main administrative computing data center and its high-performance computer center.
- Authorization to plan for the construction of a new home for the men’s and women’s intercollegiate golf teams.
- Authorization to plan for the demolition of the west wing of the Eppley Center and its replacement with a new Graduate Pavilion.
In addition, the board will receive reports from the president and board chairman, as well as a report on the beginning of the 2014-15 academic year; the gifts, grants and contracts report; and consider several personnel actions.
