EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University students, faculty and staff took home a wealth of hardware at this year's mid-Michigan ADDY Awards.
The annual awards are the advertising and marketing industry's largest and most recognized competition. It is unique in that it includes three levels of judging: local, regional and national. Winning an ADDY at each level qualifies the work to progress to the next level.
MSU students did particularly well in this year’s competition, taking home a total of seven gold awards, 14 silver awards and one bronze.
"The student work continues to evolve and rival any work done by the professionals," said Jef Richards, chairperson of MSU's Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Retailing. "We are proud of what these students have accomplished."
Other MSU units that won gold awards were University Relations, International Studies and Programs, Residential and Hospitality Services, the College of Arts and Letters, MSU Museum, the Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Retailing; and the MSU Speech Neurophysiology Laboratory.
The mid-Michigan ADDY Awards were presented at a Feb. 23 gala at the MSU Union.
