Healing on the Amazon
Imagine a visit to the doctor that requires traveling for hours in a small, packed boat.
That’s the reality for many in remote South American communities. And it’s why every year, MSU osteopathic medical students and faculty travel down the Amazon River on a mobile clinic boat, inviting aboard those in need of medical attention. It’s a mission of care and research, with students providing treatment while learning about tropical diseases and searching for long-term solutions for a healthier world.
