MSUToday presents: Spartan Sagas Part III
Every day, nearly 500,000 Spartans around the world rise to practically every challenge imaginable, proving again and again that Spartans Will. The people you are about to meet have at least two things in common: they’re all making a difference in their communities, and they’re all Spartans.
- Manpreet Singh—Helping one child at a time: A principle learned early in life—known as “seva,” or service—has shaped the kind of physician and teacher alumna Manpreet Singh has become. Watch her Saga now to see how she’s helping one child at a time.
- Meredith Whitley—Fun and games teach life lessons: Doctoral student Meredith Whitley shares her Spartan Saga as she teaches young refugees how to play sports and live as part of a new community and culture in Lansing.
- Edward Bailey—Passion Incorporated: Meet alumnus Ed Bailey—a man who is all about passion, whether it’s on the job at Google or on the other job at schools.
- Sherrie Barr—Speaking the language of dance: Alumna Sherrie Barr helps her students tell their personal narratives through movement—a process she calls “the autobiography of dance.”
- Tamera Hill—Success on her own terms: As president and CEO of a technology consulting firm, alumna Tamera Hill knows the value of a dollar—and of staying true to herself.
