Students earn 2017 Board of Trustees’ Awards

At the April 13 Board of Trustees meeting, 52 students were recognized with Board of Trustees’ Awards for having the highest scholastic average at the close of their last semester in attendance at Michigan State University.

All 52 students received a 4.0 GPA, a record number in the university's history.

The students will also be recognized at their spring commencements May 5-7.

Following is the list of awardees.

Emily Aron of Naperville, Illinois. Aron is an education major in the College of Education and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Neuqua Valley High School.

Sydney Barosko of Okemos. Barosko is a biological science major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Okemos High School.

Kristin Brandt of Imlay City. Brandt is a communication major in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Imlay City High School.

Paige Bruno of Clarkston. Bruno is an advertising major in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. She is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish School.

Nicole Cappello of Allegan. Cappello is a zoology major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Allegan Senior High School.

Rebecca Carlson of Rockford. Carlson is a chemical engineering major in the College of Engineering and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Rockford Senior High School.

James Carlstedt of Rochester Hills. Carlstedt is an accounting major in the Eli Broad College of Business and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Rochester Adams High School.

Rebecca Clancy of Troy. Clancy is a psychology major in the College of Social Science and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Troy High School.

Kristyn Crippen of East Lansing. Crippen is a hospitality business major in the Eli Broad College of Business and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of East Lansing High School.

Samuel Decker of Ada. Decker is a zoology major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Forest Hills Eastern High School.

Hayley Deindorfer of Saranac. Deindorfer is a nursing major in the College of Nursing. She is a graduate of Saranac High School.

Eamon Devlin of Farmington Hills. Devlin is an environmental studies and sustainability major in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Harrison High School.

Timothy Glew of East Lansing. Glew is an accounting major in the Eli Broad College of Business and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of East Lansing High School.

Rebecca Gorz of Clarkston. Gorz is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. She is a graduate of Clarkston Senior High School.

Emily Grobbel of Plymouth. Grobbel is a kinesiology major in the College of Education and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Father Gabriel Richard High School.

Thomas Grubb of Haslett. Grubb is an advanced mathematics major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Haslett High School.

Sandipta Haldar of Troy. Haldar is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. He is a graduate of Athens High School.

Jeffrey Hall of Wadsworth, Ohio. Hall is a mechanical engineering major in the College of Engineering and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Highland High School.

Danielle Homic of Warren. Homic is an advertising major in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Warren Woods Tower High School.

Kaitlyn Horner of Dexter. Horner is a neuroscience major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Dexter High School.

Jayhua Hsia of Northville. Hsia is a supply chain management major in the Eli Broad College of Business. She is a graduate of Farmington High School.

Shiqi Huang of Wuhu, China. Huang is a supply chain management major in the Eli Broad College of Business. She is a graduate of a high school affiliated with Anhui Normal University.

Brooklyn Idalski of Rogers City. Idalski is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. She is a graduate of Rogers City High School.

Taylor Joseph of Potterville. Joseph is a mathematics major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Potterville High School.

Julia Kerwin of Grand Blanc. Kerwin is a nutritional sciences major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Goodrich High School.

Elissa Klopfer of Clawson. Klopfer is a materials science and engineering major in the College of Engineering and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Troy High School.

Jacob Krummrey of Stockbridge. Krummrey is a mechanical engineering major in the College of Engineering and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Stockbridge High School.

Shelby Lonnerstater of Novi. Lonnerstater is a social work major in the College of Social Science. She is a graduate of Walled Lake Western High School.

David McClendon of Hartford. McClendon is a neuroscience major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Watervliet High School.

Elizabeth Michno of Chesterfield. Michno is an accounting major in the Eli Broad College of Business. She is a graduate of L’Anse Creuse High School North.

Moriah Moore of Royal Oak. Moore is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Royal Oak High School.

Alana O’Mara of Bloomfield Hills. O’Mara is a neuroscience major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Lahser High School.

Christina Pastoria of Beverly Hills. Pastoria is an international relations major and an economics major in James Madison College and the College of Social Science, as well as a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Wylie E. Groves High School.

Christian Przeslawski of Troy. Przeslawski is a physiology major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Troy High School.

Harrison Quaal of Gaylord. Quaal is a genomics and molecular genetics major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Gaylord High School.

Theresa Quaderer of Macomb. Quaderer is a kinesiology major in the College of Education. She is a graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School.

Elana Rasmussen of Oakley. Rasmussen is a nutritional sciences major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Chesaning Union High School.

Karah Smith of Lansing. Smith is an English major and psychology major in the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Science, as well as a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of DeWitt High School.

Lindsay Snyder of Okemos. Snyder is a music education major and music performance major in the College of Music, as well as a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Okemos High School.

Milan Spampinato of Oakland. Spampinato is a criminal justice major in the College of Social Science and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Rochester Adams High School.

James Stathakios III of Rochester Hills. Stathakios is a human biology major in Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Rochester High School.

Alina Tamborini of Okemos. Tamborini is a music education major in the College of Music and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Okemos High School.

John Wenzel IV of Haslett. Wenzel is a psychology major in the College of Social Science and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Haslett High School.

John Wondergem of Grandville. Wondergem is a special education-learning disabilities major in the College of Education and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Grandville High School.

Tangyao Zhao of Shanghai, China. Zhao is an actuarial science major in the College of Natural Science. She is a graduate of Sino-Canada High School.
