MSU Bakers support the American Heart Association

For the sixth consecutive year, MSU Bakers is proud to support American Heart Month throughout February.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for one out of every four deaths annually. MSU Bakers is doing its part to heighten awareness and help fight heart disease by donating $1 from every order of seasonal products to the American Heart Association.

“We’ve supported this cause since 2012, and MSU Bakers is proud to reinforce the importance of heart disease awareness in the greater East Lansing community,” said Cindy Baswell, MSU Bakers manager. “Although it’s unusual to have desserts serve as the vessel of awareness, we believe it’s critical for people of all ages to be mindful of the cause, and we appreciate our customers’ support of this worthy organization and its mission.”

Heart-shaped, hand-decorated sugar cookies will be offered as well as a do-it-yourself heart-shaped sugar cookie kit for creative customers who wish to decorate their own with family and friends. Additionally, valentine cupcakes, valentine cookie whoopie pies and a chocolate brownie blaster will be included in the lineup of seasonal items.

In March, MSU Bakers will also launch an initiative to support the MSU Food Bank. More details will be available in late February at eatatstate.com.

MSU Bakers has been proudly serving the university community for more than 40 years.
