Judy Brown earns MSU honor
Judy Brown, director of the Office of Research Support in MSU’s College of Natural Science, is the recipient of the Unit Research Administrator Spotlight Award.
Brown is being recognized for “demonstrating a significant, positive impact and commitment in providing expert service to Michigan State and serving as an inspiration for others who aspire to such service.”
“Judy’s leadership in the Office for Research Support has made it our most successful and efficient service center,” said Dave Dewitt, senior associate dean in the College of Natural Science. “No other NatSci administrative unit receives more praise and appreciation for the work it carries out from the faculty it serves. Judy has done an outstanding job managing pre-award grant support for the college.”
Brown will receive a certificate of accomplishment and a financial award along with this honor, which is presented by the university’s Sponsored Programs Administration, Office of Sponsored Programs, and Contract and Grant Administration.
“I am deeply moved and honored to receive this award,” Brown said. “I believe that I would never have received it without the outstanding work that is done by my staff every day. I changed the direction of my career here at MSU about 10 years ago, and feel that I finally have found my place at the university.”
