Wharton Center production conveys stories of soldier hardships

A powerful story about the transition between home and deployment, a Wharton Center Theatre Production entitled, “Reentry: A Staged Reading,” will be playing at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 and 27 at the Pasant Theatre.

Hailed as “productive and powerful” by The New York Times, Emily Ackerman and KJ Sanchez’s thought-provoking play comes to life by telling the stories of soldiers who go off to war, and the hardships faced by service members and their loved ones.

Directed and produced by Bert Goldstein, director of the MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts and Creativity, the performance is adapted from real stories of soldiers and their families. David Dunckel, a Lansing veteran starring in the show, will perform alongside other mid-Michigan actors who portray these powerful characters live onstage.

“Reentry” is for audiences 16 and up, as it contains strong language and intense themes that may not be appropriate for young audience members. Discounted tickets will be available for active duty military and veterans.

Tickets are available online, at the Wharton Center ticket office or by calling 1-800-WHARTON.
