MSU’s Institute for Public Policy and Social Research will launch its 2016 public policy forum series with a Jan. 20 session about empowering urban schools in Detroit and across Michigan.
Speakers at the forum, “Detroit Public Schools: Quality, Accountability, Governance,” include Kristi Bowman, associate dean of the Michigan State University College of Law; Dan Varner, chief executive officer of Excellent Schools Detroit; Gary Naeyaert, executive director of Great Lakes Education Project; and Sarah Reckhow, MSU assistant professor of political science.
The forum, co-sponsored by IPPSR and MSU’s College of Education, will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Anderson House Office Building, 5th Floor Mackinac Room, 124 N. Capitol Ave. in downtown Lansing
