MSU fares well in latest Money Magazine college rankings

Michigan State University is ranked No. 54 in the latest Money Magazine rankings of the nation’s best colleges.

In addition, MSU ranked 24th among the nation’s public universities, as well as No. 14 on the magazine’s list of “The 50 Best Colleges You Can Actually Get Into.”

MSU ranked No. 5 among its Big Ten colleagues.

The magazine initially screened 2,000 universities, but deleted schools with graduation rates below the median, financial difficulties and those with fewer than 500 undergraduate students.

The remaining 705 schools were ranked in three categories: Educational quality, affordability and alumni success.

The No. 1 university overall was Princeton University.
