MSU experts can discuss Supreme Court immigration ruling

Michigan State University immigration experts Anna Pegler-Gordon and Stephanie Nawyn can discuss the Supreme Court's June 23 ruling that essentially prevents President Obama's executive actions on immigration from going into effect.

Pegler-Gordon, associate professor of social relations and policy in MSU's James Madison College, can be reached at 517-505-0072 and gordonap@msu.edu

Nawyn, associate professor of sociology who specializes in immigration issues, can be reached at 517-353-7747 and nawyn@msu.edu

MSU legal scholar David Thronson can also discuss immigration.

According to CNN, the ruling will impact the more than 4 million undocumented immigrants seeking to be able to come out of the shadows and apply for these programs to stay in the United States. Immediately after Obama announced them in late 2014, Texas and 25 other states challenged the plans and they were blocked nationwide by a federal district court the next year.
